About Us
YCP is a multinational organization of young Catholic professionals. YCP was instituted in Nigeria in the year 2000 and in Port Harcourt in the year 2004 precisely in St. Francis Catholic Church Rumuokwuta fromwhere it was extended to some other Parishes. YCP helps to motivate and drive Catholic professionals in their 20s, 30s and 40s to connect with one another, grow in their Catholic faith, advance their careers, promote their businesses and portfolios, and use their professions to fruitfylly serve God and humanity.
Catholics within YCP’s age bracket are obviously the next generation of business, educational, political and national leaders, captains of industries, Catholic philanthropists and Catholic families. The future of our Church and its role in Nigerian society rests on whether or not young people and young professionals decide to embrace and excel in the gift of their faith and talents and live it in all its fullness in our workplaces, homes and social networks.

YCP strives to bring out the best in her members. We build, nurture, encourage, support and share the burdens of one another in the love of Christ. Invigorated by a community of peers and mentors, young professionals have the strength and opportunity to witness to their faith at work and through lawful works – performing their professional vocations for the glory of God and seeing the workplace, places of business and our ever-changing society as a natural site for joyful evangelization.
